Did God Create Evil?
I heard a preacher declare once from his pulpit that God created evil! Listen to me carefully: That is a lie! God never created evil!
What God did was take a chance in the cause of true love by giving us a free will. In other words, people are not robots because God wanted us to love Him of our own choice. Evil entered the world initially through Lucifer (now known as Satan) when he exercised his free will to rebel against God. Evil entered the human race when Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s command not to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
If God had, by force, prevented the sin of Adam and Eve then man’s will would not have been free. The same is true concerning love. Without a choice, there can be no real and true love; freely given.
The truth is, even though God did not create evil and is not responsible for it, He has every intention of dealing with it in every dimension. He’s already dealt with it in the spiritual realm when Jesus shed His blood on the cross. God’s ultimate will is to perfect all who desire to be perfected in this physical realm by molding and shaping us into the image of His Son, Jesus (Romans 8:29, II Corinthians 3:18, I Corinthians 15:49).
God dealt with sin in the Heavenly dimension when He cast Satan and all the angels (now called demons) that sided with him, out!
When God wraps everything up, He will deal with evil once and for all in every dimension when He casts all of it into the Lake of Fire for eternity! (Revelation 19 & 20).
So, don’t ever allow anyone to feed you this existential mumbo-jumbo that says God is responsible for sin and evil. It just isn’t so. Our God is great and good and holy and He only does great and good and holy things! I love you.
